The diagram shows the various steps of the production of corn-based ethanol. Overall, there are a total of 8 steps to produce ethanol fuel from corn.
First, corn is harvested from fields. Then, it is stored to commence the production of ethanol. The first step of the production is milling the corn and grinding it into powder. In the next step, the milled corn goes through the cooking stage in which it is mixed with water. The following step is that the mixture of corn powder and water is fermented.
After the process of fermentation, solid product is separated from the liquid which is purified in the last chemical step of the corn ethanol production. It takes 5 hours for purification to make the final product which is ethanol. Once the ethanol fuel is ready, it is stored before being delivered to where it is consumed.

The process below shows the way that corn produces ethanol fuel through nearly dozens of steps. Corn after harvesting in many fields will be stored in stocks before processing. The first step of making ethanol fuel is that the corn goes through milling step. After that, corn will be added an appropriate amount of water and cooked in 4 hours at boiled temperature of water, approximately 100 celsius degrees. Then, the solution will spend the next 48 hours for fermenting to become ethanol before going to separating process. At the separation step, the mixture including ethanol, water and corn will be separated completely into two parts, solid and liquid, by going through many layers of filters. The ethanol fuel after the separation will be purified for 5 hours, this step will make the fuel become cleaner and more pure. The ethanol fuel then will be stored in stocks until it is transported to customers and sold to market
The diagram highlights the process by which corn is converted into ethanol fuel. There are ten steps involved in the process from collecting the corn to delivering the ethanol fuel to where it is consumed.
First of all, the high-quality corn is chosen and taken away for storing in the factory. Once the corn have been sent to mill completely, they are added with water and then cooked for 4 hours. Following this, the corn is moved to a fermenting stage which takes longer time about 48 hours. The mixture is separated into liquid product and solid by-product subsequently.
The next step is that the liquid product after separating is purified in order to collect ethanol and remove contaminants. To be more specific, this step takes about 5 hours. After that, the cleaned ethanol is stored for later use. Finally, the corn-based ethanol fuel is transported to the factory or the petrol station.
